My professional career with the web began when I was fourteen, a fact that helps explain (in the spirit of full disclosure) the two notable interruptions that appear below. My work history goes silent between the years of 1998-2000 when I was traveling full-time, and again from 2004-2008 when I was finally working towards an undergraduate degree.

People who do what I do usually get degrees in computer science, so naturally I studied philosophy, comparative literature, classics, and the history of mathematics and science, culminating in a senior thesis on French poetry. I like to consider this a feature, not a bug.
